Digital Badge #A Chapter 1

The main concept within chapter 1 that I really want to explore more with, is the clickers. I do have some experience with this tool, but only as a student. I was able to see my scores compared to my peers. It also showed what percentile I ranked in compared to my peers. I would really like to experience this tool as a teacher. It gives the ability to see the strengths and weaknesses of your students as a whole. I would like to learn about what other advantages this tool has.
The next tool I would like to learn more about is the, "Inside the classroom and Outside the classroom Use by Students," concept. This is useful for students to use the internet on research papers inside and outside the classroom. You can also utilize group projects using computers, and smart phones for students to email and communicate outside the classroom.
The last tool I would like to explore is laptops. I see how some teachers can be hesitant to allow laptops within the classroom, but I do believe with proper monitoring this tool may be very useful. Lectures can be faster and easier, along with presentations, and student to student communication, which can give the students more resources if the students are able to help eachother out.
In conclusion, with technology as prominent as it is today, we as teachers have many resources and tools that may help us reach our students in ways teachers never could before. These the concepts are just a few I look forward to learning more about.

  1. Yay! You got your first blog post on the web! :)

The concept of clickers is pretty awesome, but that hardware is almost 'old' these days as the policy of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) is being highlighted and websites such as Infuse Learning and Socrative allows for a similar experience on the students' own devices!

So much to learn....so little time. :)
